Adding a Nose Ring

In this tutorial, we will learn to create a nose ring and add it to a person’s nose inside of a photograph. This tutorial is useful for learning how to create 3D objects from scratch and intergrating them with real life photos.

Step-By-Step:

1. Open in Photoshop the photograph of the person’s photo that is clearly displaying the nose.
2. Name the layer with the photograph “Nose”.

Final Fantasy midnight rain signature – full tut!

Ok, this is an easy tut with a nice outcome, FF fans are going to love it! .PSD file is available for free download, scroll down for it.

So… lets get started. Make a new canvas, 450*150 px. This is the typical signature size allowed in forums, but if you want to make is smaller or bigger, that is up to you.

Fill it with the #1a2c6f , dark blue colour.

Now you would need a pic of some FF girl. We based our sig on this wallpaper: http://www.vetton.ru/fantasy/6561.html (go there and save it to your computer.

Take this picture, duplicate it as a new canvas and re-size, to 33% of its actual size to get a smaller version.

Paste the big version unto your signature canvas, and move it so that the face will be on the right side.

Set the opacity of the layer with the face to about 30% or a bit more, we dont want this image to be dominating.

Duplicate this layer.

While the upper layer is selected, go to Filter >> Blur >> Motion Blur and apply these settings… Remember that the duplicated layer is also set to 33% opacity, not more!

This is what you go so far…

Now take the smaller version of the girl’s image that you have and paste it into the body of the signature, this time put it in the left side of the canvas, as shown on the picture below:

Using the Eraser tool with a smooth edge, remove the sharp line that separates the layers. Always use smooth edges, to avoid having same sharp edge just elsewhere on the canvas.

Make a new layer, fill it with white.

Go to Filter >> Render >> Clouds (while you still have dark blue as a primarily colour and white as the secondary) and apply the clouds effect to the new layer.

Go to Image >> Adjustments >> Brightness / Contrast and apply these settings to your clouds, to give them a more dramatic and visible touch.

Set the clouds layer opacity to 35% – 40%, and this is what you will get…

Using the eraser tool with smooth edges, remove the clouds from the small figure, in order to make it stand out.

Now we need to make an edge, before we forget.
Make a new layer, select the pen tool (not the brush!) with 4px master diameter and draw a box all around the signature. Make sure your line is staight. If you are unable to do it properly, hold the “Shift” button on your keyboard to use the straight line.

Go to Layer >> Layer Styles >> Blending options and apply this gentle shadow to your border. It will give a bit more depth to the picture.

This is the outcome of the border settings…

Make a new layer, fill it with white.
Go to Filter >> Render >> Fibers and apply these fibbers settings…

Reduce the fibbers layer opacity as shown on the picture below.

Now take a nice picture of a rain, with droplets.. You can use this one we pulled from some free images stock.

Copy it to your clipboard and paste unto the signature canvas.
Set it’s opacity to “Multiply”…

Select the typing tool and type a word over the signature. You wrote Midnight Rain”, but this is very very personal. We used the font called “moonstar”, available free at dafont.com

After having typed your word, apply these settings to the text, in order to give it an extra dreamy and deep effect.

Reduce the text fill to 35%.

Now that we know, more or less, how our canvas looks and organized, select the layer with the small girl image and go to Filter >> Render >> Lightening Effect. Apply this light over her face. We used a light purple colour – #e1e5fe

That is it, you are done! This is your result.

Believe it or not, but from a few ordinary photos and some primitive brushes, we will make this:

OK, despite the rather impressive outcome, this is a very simple
tutorial, you wont need more than a few brushes and a few pictures.
Most of it is a mater of technique.

Realistic tattoo tutorial on human skin!

tutorial_tatoo_intro_oliengnet
I’ve decided to create a more realistic tutorial on how to apply a tattoo on human skin and make it look realistic. I’ve seen several tutorials on creating this same effect around the web yet it doesn’t look that realistic, the tattoo needs to look like it’s actually wrapping and embedded on the skin while keeping the quality and highlights of the tattoo.

Create a Robotic Angel using Lineart and Textures

If you’re anything like me, some of the fondest memories you may have as a child are the times spent with building blocks. Those tiny locks of plastic or wood could be a fuselage on a jet airplane one day and a castle’s gateway the next – they were limitless. They allowed you to start from the ground up in creating anything your imagination allowed.

Adding Texture to the Skin

Basically, in this tutorial I’m going to be showing you how to add texture to the skin like the one in the below image.
